When You Feel Blue
When you feel blue, do you sit and stew?
Do you feel sorry for yourself, do you?
Do you sit upon the empty shelf?
Do you brood your day away all by yourself?
Well here’s a thing to do, and it will help
To keep the blues away and it will melt
That lonely day to cheer you up:
Hug your dog, be he old or just a pup.
When you feel blue, do you hug your dog?
Your dog will snuggle, he’s yhe one main cog
In your life. Back at home, he waits for you
With wagging tail and warmth to welcome you.
Do you hug your dog when you feel blue?
Your dog’s your faithful friend, he’s ever true.
He’ll cheer you up, it’s a guarantee:
You and your dog, the way things ought to be.
So give your dog a hug, he’ll treasure that,
Companions – trust and love – and all of that,
You’ll feel so much better then, that’s a fact,
Faithful friends in an unspoken pact.
When life let’s you down, when friends betray,
Your ever-loving dog will always stay.
When things go wrong, who do you call?
Why it’s your dog, he’ll help cure all.
So hug your dog, he’ll lick your face,
He’ll make you laugh in his embrace,
He’ll tickle your fancy, you won’t resist,
’Cause your own best friend will always insist.
When you feel blue, do you hug your dog?
Do his kisses lick the foggy fog
Away with his unconditional love?
Together always then like a perfect fitting glove.
