A NECKLACE OF GRAVE STONES

A necklace of grave stones, a rosary of sorrows,

A gathering of hearts broken of families torn,

A pool full of tears catching mourners’ deep grief

Seeking some solace, seeking blessed relief.

Our hearts have been emptied, our graveyards are full,

The flowers are wilting, our tears running dry,

This conflict has worn us, it has wrung out our souls,

Yet we are resilient and hope fills up our bowls.

We are survivors and we shall prevail,

We shall grow stronger, we have the grit.

Positive action, positive love, this will be why

The river of sorrows will finally run dry.

In the aftermath of the great epidemic,

Good health and good spirits with their healing grace

Will close our wounds, mend our souls, show us the way

A force for better forever together we’ll stay.
