Poet Goes International
It’s official. H. W. Bryce is an international poet.
I am so happy to show you the Amaravati Poetic Prism international multilingual poetry anthology that contains my little tribute poem to the philosophy of Rabrinranath Tagore, the Bengalese Poet Laurate.
Although I am unilingual, this 85-language anthology includes my contribution, which was translated into French and Bengali by the industrious Indian poet Supratik Sen.
Here it is in French with translator Supratik Sen’s photo and cross reference to H. W. Bryce as author.
There Is Always Morning was distilled from a longer piece that I posted in September, 2016.
Here is a link to that piece:

Here is the poem in English:
There Is Always Morning
H. W. Bryce
There is always morning,
It’s God’s good day to you,
It’s God’s most gifted way
To prove that love is true.
Life’s for love not futile hate,
A gentle gift to start your day
With faith and hope, it’s not too late
To share your heart, keep hate at bay.
If this should be your final morning,
Would you greet the day with love?
If you were given one last wish,
Would you wish me love?
I wish you sunshine all your days,
With new hopes to be a-borning,
And rain to make the blooms to stay,
For there is always morning.
Value things but not for worth,
Value what they represent;
Value people’s inner worth
For more than they present.
For if there were no morning…
Your aura would paint the sky,
The Earth would lose its orbit,
And God would cry!

H. W. Bryce, judge at 6th Rabindranath Tagore International English Poetry Competition.
- *One of the highest ranking poets in the competition was Padmaja Ienger-Paddy. It was she who told me of this book in the making and suggested I make a contribution. Fortunately for me, she and the editorial board judged my poem to be worthy of inclusion. They didn’t have to do that. Thank you Paddy and The Cultural Centre of Vijayawada & Amaravati.
The book can be ordered through cyberwit.net.
Dear Herb, Reading your poems is an experience for me. I feel really honoured to have translated your poems in French and Bengali. Amaravati Poetic Prism anthology for me is a stage that holds a good one-third of the world thanks to the indefatigable effort by the Honorary Literary Advisor Ms. Padmaja Iyengar aka Paddy.
Here’s wishing you all the very best.
Thank you so much Supratik. A samll by-the-by, for future ref, and let me know if my teacher friend read your translation correctly: She said the final word, “cry”, mean weep, sob. She wondered if your French word captured that meaning? Please let me know. We can’t correct it if there is a dispute, but curiosity begs. And thanks again, my friend.
Congratlations Herb, that is wonderful news! ?♀️
Thank you, my good friend. Thank you.
My thanks also to all 43 good people who read my poem and clicked the like button. This is very encouraging for me. Thank you.
